June Photo Roundup

What can I say about June? Aside from the increasingly warmer weather (and the end of distance learning), it was a lot like the previous three months. We spent all of our time at home or the park.... and it wasn't bad at all! The one bit of "excitement" not captured in a photograph was that Shaun had to be tested for Covid after very brief contact with someone who later tested positive for the virus. Fortunately, after a few days of waiting (during which time we cancelled our Fathers Day trip to Placerville, to be on the safe side), he tested negative and life during a global pandemic continued on as normal...

Avalon's baking blitz continued in June with blueberry muffins from scratch, made with our own homegrown blueberries!

This is such a rare sight anymore that I just had to take a pic... my baby boy conked out for a nap. <3
Aaaaaand my other boy, also conked out for a nap (with a sushi keychain??) This is not as rare a sight.
The kids love their designated X-Box spot in the den.
Another day, another creative idea for this girl. Here Avalon shows off the "pants pillow" she made for Gizmo.
He loves it! (Though, from the looks of it, he did not love me disrupting his nap to take this photo.)
The garden was off to a great start in early June! (This pic was taken June 10.)
Another view
Pepperoncinis and basil in their barrels
Enjoying a picnic at the park! Full credit goes to Avalon for this one; she came up with the idea and packed the the picnic all on her own.
Selfie with my Ellie :)
My littlest person playing with his Little People
And later, playing a game of "Crash".
Our lovely "Anna"

Another day at the park... Avalon found her favorite tree to climb
Little bro is always trying to keep up with his big sisters
Despite all the downtime of the last few months, Ellie still hasn't quite mastered the fine art of tying her shoelaces. ;)
This has got to be my favorite pic of the month. During one of our many "popcorn, smoothie and movie" afternoons, Eddie fell asleep with his hand still in his popcorn bowl! (Not to mention popcorn on his shirt! Lol!) Having nothing to do but play is sure tiring!
Fathers Day prep in full swing! This banner was completely the kids' idea.
The finished product :)
Fathers Day cards and gifts
Dad checking out his goodies
Happy Father's Day to the #1 Dad!!!
This shot is for all the Seinfeld fans out there 😆
Fathers Day brunch... scrambled eggs (made by Avalon) and lots and lots of BACON
The #1 Dad chillin' with his #1 son
The kids were excited to bust out our water slide for the first time this summer!
Shaun and I even took a couple slides down :)
What a difference a couple weeks make! This garden pic was taken June 24th.

We started to pull zucchinis of this size out of the garden only 5-6 weeks after planting! We have never seen a zucchini harvest like we've had this summer. We've been keeping a tally and are now at over 70 zucchinis harvested with more blossoming every day!
The kids ended the month with a couple days in Placerville with Nana and Papa, so Gizmo kept Avalon's bed warm in her absence.
Avalon asked me to send her lots of pictures of Gizmo while they were in Placerville, so I also snapped this one while he was keeping me company. I love this pic--look how wise and distinguished he looks! ;) Hard to believe this guy is 15 years old now!
Final pic from June... wild turkeys wandering our new neighborhood in the 'burbs... a very unexpected (yet familiar!) sight.
